Congratulations on FRCS (Tr & Orth) success!

Good news was recieved today that one of our MCh (Orth) Dundee Alumni has successfully passed the FRCS (Tr&Orth) exam. Within less than three years of completing his Dundee MCh (Orth) Degree in June 2012, Mr Manish Kiran has successfully passed the FRCS (Tr&Orth) exam held on 26-27 April 2015. Along with the MCh (Orth) Dundee degree, Mr Kiran was awarded the Ian Smillie Award for Academic Excellence, awarded for the best overall MCh (Orth) student performance for that year.

Manish stated: "I would like to thank Professor Rami Abboud for his guidance and constant support in furthering my career. Being a graduate of the University of Dundee helped me secure coveted fellowships and gain eligibility for the exam in a short period of time. I would also like to thank Mr Carlos Wigderowitz, Mr Arpit Jariwala and the entire Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Dundee for the strong academic foundation that I had during the MCh (Orth) Dundee course, which helped me pass the FRCS (Tr&Orth) exam in the first attempt."

Professor Abboud added: “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Manish on his passing the FRCS (Tr&Orth) exam and on his continued impressive academic successes. I am extremely proud of all our graduates’ achievements, which reflect the quality of our course as part of one of the top leading Medical Schools in the UK, as per the recent Guardian League Tables for 2016, which places Dundee as 4th in the UK and 1st in Scotland. Our MCh (Orth) Dundee degree helps overseas orthopaedic surgeons to further their careers and in gaining Fellowships and employment in the UK and worldwide. We regard our Alumni as ‘Champions’ and ‘Ambassadors‘ of the course and the University as a whole, and remain in close contact with many of our graduates.”
