Staff member designs official Glastonbury Festival t-shirt

Ian Christie, Postgraduate Skills Tutor within the Department, has won a competition run by ‘Q’ Music magazine to design the Glastonbury Festival t-shirt this year. Ian came up with the muddy hand-print design, based on the fact that historically it rains during the festival weekend. Rather ironically though the weather this year was very hot and dry so there was none of the normal mud baths of previous years! Not only was the t-shirt available to buy at the festival but Ian won a £1000 prize money and received VIP tickets to the event; personal highlights being Mercury Rev, Queens of the Stone Age and Coldplay.
