Tianjin University has had collaborative connections with IMAR for more than a decade now thanks to the efforts of Dr Weijie Wang. For the past four years an academic visitor from Tianjin has come to IMAR and worked with local colleagues for anything up to six months.

During the visit, these professors were given a guided tour of the Foot, Sports, Gait and Motion Analysis labs within the TORT Centre whilst discussing potential collaborations with Dr Wang. They also explained their own particular areas of research, and look forward to welcoming colleagues from Dundee to their institutes in Tianjin. Both sides are interested in the research directions of both Universities and feel there is the possibility to apply for grants for interdisciplinary research projects.
