Interactive 3D Motion Workshop

A team from the Dundee University Department of Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery (UDOTS) will be giving an Interactive Workshop on 3D Motion in Gait, Sports and Engineering at the BIOSPORTS Symposium, held at the EKA Club, Ahmedabad, India, on 18-19th February 2020.

The UDOTS International Teaching Faculty, consisting, Dr Graham Arnold, Mr Sadiq Nasir, Mrs Linda Johnston and Mrs Sheila MacDonald, will attend the CME day on Friday 18th before giving a full-day workshop on Saturday the 19th.

The workshop is aimed at providing Biomechanists, Biomedical Engineers, Prosthetists, Orthotists, Physiotherapists, and Sports and Healthcare workers with an understanding of the complete process of data collection through to analysis of 3-dimensional motion information. The workshop will contain practical sessions supplemented by workshops and lectures, building up a picture of how 3D motion can be used in the medical, sports, entertainment, and security industries.

Whilst in India, the team will be making a two-hour trip south to Vadodara, where they will be giving a presentation to medical students at Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University about courses run at the University of Dundee and advising prospective students about living and studying in Scotland.

Mr Arpit Jariwala, Director of UDOTS, stated:

“This is another great achievement for the UDOTS team and it reflects the quality of teaching and training that we are able to provide not only in the UK but also overseas. This is an excellent opportunity for further collaboration for UDOTS and UOD with various centres in India. I wish the team all the best for the event and safe journey.”

The UDOTS Team previously gave a successful and well-received Live Demonstration Workshop of Gait Analysis at Indian Orthopaedic Association Conference (IOACON) 2019, which took place in November at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata.
