Mr Francis Chan MCh (Orth) lecture series

Mr Francis Chan, Specialist in Orthopaedics & Traumatology, gave a series of lectures to MCh (Orth) students studying at the University Department of Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery (UDOTS), on January 28th, 2020, when he shared his extensive knowledge of:

  • Metal-on-Metal Hip Arthroplasty
  • DVT - Orthopaedic Perspectives
  • Osteoporosis - Orthopaedic Implications and Management
  • Knee Unicompartmental Replacement

Mr Chan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Tameside Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Greater Manchester, UK and has been lecturing as visiting faculty on our MCh (Orth) Dundee course for the past five years. He is Lead Appraiser of the Tameside Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on doctor revalidation. Between 2009 and 2012, Mr Chan was the Clinical Director of Department of Orthopaedics at Tameside General Hospital and is actively involved in education. He was granted with the Fellowship of the European Federation of Orthopaedics and Traumatology for recognition of his clinical and academic achievements.
