UDOTS Student Welcome Event 2020
The University Department of Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery (UDOTS) held an online student welcome on Tuesday 29th September.
Twenty-four students from 12 different countries studying Intercalated BMSc and MSc were welcomed by UDOTS Director, Mr Arpit Jariwala and the associated academic and support staff. The Gait & Motion Analysis team gave a Live virtual tour of the labs at the TORT Centre before students introduced themselves.
Mr Arpit Jariwala stated:
“It was a different type of welcome for obvious reasons this year. It was great seeing and interacting with our new students albeit remotely and all at UDOTS are looking forward to the forthcoming year. It’s also exciting that students are now again arriving in Dundee. Yes, it’ll be different this year and yes, it’ll be strange, but we intend to ensure that our students get the same levels of teaching and support we’ve always offered. I’m sure our Chinese students were rather taken aback when Dr Andrew J. Murphy, our Lecturer in Sports Biomechanics and Rehabilitation, started conversing with them in their native tongue! Here’s to an exciting and rewarding twelve months.”
