Student Led Teaching Awards 2021

Four members of UDOTS have been nominated for an award at the 2021 DUSA Student Led Teaching Awards (SLTAs). UDOTS students have nominated staff in the following categories:

  • Mr Arpit Jariwala (UDOTS Director) - Best Advisor/Personal Tutor, and Innovation in Teaching
  • Dr Tim Drew (Senior Lecturer) - Best Assessment and Feedback
  • Dr Andrew J. Murphy (Lecturer Sports Biomechanics & Rehabilitation) - Best Advisor/Personal Tutor, and Best Postgraduate Supervisor
  • Mr Ian Christie (Academic Skills Tutor) - Innovation in Teaching

The Dundee University Student Union (DUSA) SLTAs recognise excellence in inspirational and innovative teaching and gives the opportunity to directly reward all levels of staff who students feel have made a significant contribution to their student experience. DUSA will be announcing all shortlists via its social media platforms on the evening of the Friday 7th May 2021. All individuals nominated will receive a coveted SLTA mug as recognition of their achievement and a chosen winner in each category will receive a trophy.

Mr Arpit Jariwala, UDOTS Director, stated:

“I’d like to congratulate every member of staff throughout the University who has been nominated for these important awards and especially to my UDOTS colleagues who have worked extremely hard in delivering course this year. These past thirteen months have been unprecedented and challenging for students and staff alike, so for them to nominate us for the work we do is a great honour and shows our hard work and dedication have been appreciated. Nominations reinforce that the teaching and support we’ve been providing, more often than not remotely, is working and still enabling a rich and positive student experience here in Dundee. I think my colleagues will agree that just being nominated makes you feel like a winner. ”
