Iain Hyndman - Arthritis Research UK Studentship Award 2013
Iain Hyndman, a 2nd year medical student at the University of Dundee, has successfully been granted an Arthritis Research UK Studentship Award to investigate one part of a larger project investigating the kinematic analysis of shoulder mobility in activities of daily living following Copeland resurfacing hemi-arthroplasty in patients with arthritis, that was carried out by one of our consultants, Mr Arpit Jariwala, for his MD degree.
"Iain joined our department in January/February 2013 to undertake our SSC in Research and Audit", said Professor Abboud. "His desire towards furthering his knowledge in orthopaedics brought him back to us sooner than expected and I was pleased to support his request for a summer project in 2013. Obtaining the ARUK Award is a great accolade for a young medic who is eager to further his research knowledge in orthopaedics", added Professor Abboud, "I am sure that this will be the start of hopefully many accolades that Iain will achieve".
