UDOTS welcomes 2021-2022 students
Thirty-five students from several countries around the world were welcomed by UDOTS on 28th September 2021.
The remote welcome event was led by the Director of UDOTS, Mr Arpit Jariwala, who invited each member of staff to introduce themselves with a brief resume of duties and how these relate to students. The floor was then opened for students to introduce themselves if they wished.
Mr Arpit Jariwala commented:
“It’s always a joy to meet our new students each year and although the welcome was online, we hope to see you more increasingly face-to-face over the coming weeks and months. We received excellent feedback from our 2020-2021 student cohorts on the way courses were delivered in a blended fashion and of the excellence of lectures and workshops, not forgetting the friendliness and support of all the staff.
It’s a great testament to the UDOTS team that we can offer such wide-ranging and diverse research-based courses to more than 30 in-house students again this year. We will also be welcoming MCh (Orth) students in January 2022 so we’ll have a diverse range of students once more. Also, when you factor in our distance learning and PhD students it highlights what can be achieved by a small group of dedicated staff supported by our world-renowned visiting teaching faculty.
We all look forward to working with you in producing exciting and novel academic research. I’m sure you’ll all enjoy the culture and hospitality Dundee and Scotland have to offer and I hope you take advantage of the beautiful Scottish scenery and explore the country just as I did when I first arrived nearly 20 years ago.”
