University of Dundee MBChB students came together at the annual Faculty of Medical Educator’s (FaME) Awards to celebrate and recognise the high standard of teaching in the School of Medicine in 2021-2022.

Mr Arpit Jariwala (Consultant Shoulder, Elbow and Trauma Surgeon & Director UDOTS) was awarded Runner Up in the ‘Innovation in Teaching’ category. The Fame awarding committee stated that

“Mr Arpit Jariwala meticulously arranged online classes during COVID and provided a very warm welcome to our international students. He also organised clinical teaching in small groups to supplement online teaching. A huge well done!”

Funded by NHS Education for Scotland, the FaME Awards have been held annually since 2007 and are to celebrate excellence in undergraduate teaching and recognise the high standard of teaching in the School of Medicine. The nominating process is open to students, staff members and teachers with students selecting the overall winners through an online voting form.
