School of Medicine President
Everyone at UDOTS would like to congratulate Dominic Lee who has been confirmed via DUSA as the School of Medicine President for another year.
Dominic studied an Intercalated BMSc in Applied Orthopaedic Technology with us last year. His research project investigated the biomechanical analysis of the lower limb during fencing movements with and without the application of kinesiology tape (Supervised by Dr Graham Arnold and Mr Sadiq Nasir). Dominic presented his research findings at the 20th Staffordshire Conference on Clinical Biomechanics on 21-23 April 2022.
Dominic’s goals as School President next year are to develop a system to allow students to give anonymous feedback on any subject in “real-time” as opposed to having to wait for a staff meeting or EoB assessment. To improve and standardise the feedback loop system, and to gain more student representation in all areas across the school.
The office of School President is arguably the most important position within the student representation system. School Presidents are vital student stakeholders who work to enhance the student experience and are the leaders of their school’s overall student voice. Dominic sits on each School’s key committees and works with the senior management team on a range of topics, projects, and priorities. Presidents also have direct access to the Dean of the School, allowing them to give any student feedback at the very top of the school management system.
Dominic is also the Treasurer of the University of Dundee Fencing Club, this year after being the President for the preceding two years.
