Professor Rami Abboud, Head of Orthopaedic Department and Director of the Dundee MCh (Orth) Degree at the TORT Centre, has been invited as a guest speaker at this years’ IOACON - 59th Annual Conference of Indian Orthopaedic Association.
Prof Abboud has been invited to deliver the Dr. K.S. Grewal eponymous lecture in Hyderabad, India on 20th November at 12.30 in Hall 1 and will be sharing his experience on Relevant Gait and Biomechanical Analysis. Other renowned speakers include Mr Colin Howie (Current President of the British Orthopaedic Association and past lecturer on the Dundee MCh Orth Degree), Professor David Marsh (past lecturer on the Dundee MCh Orth Degree), Dr Parag Sancheti (graduate from the Dundee MCh Orth Degree; Professor and Medical Director of the Sancheti Institute in Pune).
Besides the honour of presenting at this prestigious event Professor Abboud will be making the trip to India to represent the Department and the University along with Mr Arpit Jariwala (Consultant Upper Limb Orthopaedic Surgeon, Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer, and a graduate from the Dundee MCh Orth Degree) and Mr Sadiq Nasir as professional support. There will be a manned information booth in Hall 1 (Stall D-04) at the conference giving information and advice about courses and life as a student in Dundee. This has proved to be a highly successful exercise over the past several years with huge interest shown by delegates, who this year will number approximately 8000. Whilst there Professor Abboud hopes to meet up with valued members of our MCh (Orth) course Alumni, catching up with friends, and making new acquaintances with future students. Please feel free to drop by.
”It is a great honour to be invited to be an international keynote speaker at the IOACON meetings for the 3rd year running”, said Professor Abboud. “This is always a great opportunity to assess the ongoing and evolving clinical progress in India to allow us the opportunity to objectively compliment the knowledge needed through our highly popular Dundee MCh (Orth) Degree that is accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and supported by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for GMC registration for our MCh candidates/graduates.”
