Nostalgia - by Emma Parish
"Emma completed her Intercalated Honours degree in Applied Orthopaedic Technology (AOT) in 2006 with a 1st Class honours. She was an exceptional student in an exceptional cohort and I do remember her vividly", said Professor Abboud. "The research on 'shoes' that she undertook under my supervision was awarded the highest mark, 100%, in our 12 years history of running the intercalated degree in AOT by a thorough and experienced external examiner; the research was subsequently published. I could not resist from writing this short news item as Emma's recent Alumni's News Article took me back in time to 2006 but it still feels like it was yesterday when Emma and her BMSc colleagues were with us in TORT; one of them Graeme Nicol is in fact still with us as a trainee orthopaedic surgeon".
"It is very heartening to read of the good time Emma had in the Medical School, TORT and Dundee in general and I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of everyone in TORT to wish Emma a happy 30th birthday with many happy returns".
