Linda Johnston has a nursing background and is a qualified Registered General Nurse, who specialised in orthopaedics. She began working for the University Department of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery in 1996 to instigate the Standardised Audit of Hip Fracture in Europe. She then became the Research Nurse Co-ordinator (North) for the largest to date UK Knee Arthroplasty Trial (KAT). During this time she completed a Bachelor of Nursing Degree, specialising in Audit, Research and Clinical Governance and obtained an MSC (by research) in 2010.
